The Gallery Cabaret, premiere Chicago music venue in Bucktown, is pleased to announce their second annual block party to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Last year’s event featured non-stop live entertainment from 12:00pm to 3:00 am, was attended by over one hundred kids of all ages, and raised over $2,000.00 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This year, Gallery Cabaret management invites revelers to join us in our new goal of doubling that donation, and having even more fun and good times than ever before.
The Block Party will take place on July 11th, 2009, beginning at 12 noon. This year’s activities line-up includes Street art with the kids, Balloon, clown and magic shows, a visit from Batman and the Chicago Fire Department, and a Moonwalk. Patrons will have the opportunity to take their chances on Raffle prizes including Sox and Cubs tickets, Gallery Cabaret T-Shirts and Jackets. A generous lunch will be available for $5, and dinner for $10, featuring summer comfort food like Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Pork Chops, Corn on the Cob, Ribs, and other picnic favorites, hot off the grill. The proceeds from the raffle and food sales will be donated directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Live music begins at 12 noon, also, beginning with performances from HerbieTunes, High Action, BK Elmore and Thatt Band, Mythic Figs, Running Madd, For Pilots, Gen’ral Patton, Chocolate Covered Karma, and The Mosquitos. Music will be presented on the outdoor stage from Noon until 10pm, then the party will move indoors to the familiar stage of the Gallery Cabaret and continue until 3 am.
